Houses that are contemporary design usually have a lot of the in-home functions automated, and such thing includes automatic window blinds. The reasons for the automation can be numerous and include such as large windows, and windows that are unreachable as the ones on a ceiling or high up a wall. In these cases you can either use motorized, or automated blinds that can be timed, or set up to open and close depending on the amount natural light and whether there is sun shining to the window.

What kind of automatic window blinds are there?

Normally window blinds are operated manually, and that means that there usually a string that is attached to the blades that can be used to adjust the tilt of the blades. That is the case in adjustable blinds in which the amount of passing light can be controlled by adjusting the blades instead of pulling the shade up. These are the traditional models and they can be well used with regular windows and they are cost effective. They do come cheap because there is so many brands and models to choose from. The history in this industry dates way back, and different types of shades have been manufactured for ages already and they have been perfected to the traditional design of normal homes.

When you build a modern home with high windows and ceiling windows to let enough natural light in the house, you will need some special solutions to make it easy enough to cover these windows when needed. The most common solution for theses are the automatic roll up window blinds that are motorized and operated with a remote control. There is an electric motor that is attached to a rotating unit which will act as the human pulling the string to get the shades up. You can use the remote to carefully adjust the rotating speed and direction of the motor to easily change the quantity of the brightness that is let through. For the rolling blinds there are many different options that you can choose from, and they come as folding blinds also, but the best option for you electric blinds are definitely adjustable automatic window blinds. Unlike the roll up models these can be adjusted in multiple ways. Normally when you have a rolling model there is just one way to adjust the shade – you are going to cover less window or you are going to cover more window. This will naturally block more or block less light from coming through, and to get a nice and soft effect the material that is used usually lets some of the sunshine pass. That way you are not going to be able to get a complete blackout effect unless you get blackout blinds that are recommended for rooms that have a television in them to avoid unwanted reflections on the screen.

The adjustable blinds are somewhat more modern than the rolling models since they have plate like disks that can be turned so that in one position they allow all the light that is coming directly horizontally to pass, and in the other extreme they are situated in a manner that is going to block all the light. By adjusting every position in between these two extremes you can use adjustable automatic window blinds to let a desired amount of light to go through, or make it possible for you to see outsde without people being able to see inside. This effect is achieved because of the point of view is usually higher than where you are looking at, and if you want to be able to see outside without someone being able to effectively see what is going in inside your house, you can set the shades so that the outer part is slighty lower than the inner part – the people who have their eyes higher than where they are looking at don’t see in.

These two types of automatic window blinds can easily be used in all the windows around the house, where they make it easier to adjust the amount of light that is entering the home, and also protect your privacy. They can make it either easier to adust the shade when you have the controls set to the wall near the window – you won’t need to manually pull the strings, which can be quite tasking if the blinds are large and heavy, as might the case be in large windows. Or you can set a remote control so that you won’t have to leave the sofa while you are watching the TV to block out all the unwanted light. This is going to create a very good impression on your friends when you have them over to watch a movie! For windows that are located in places that are hard to reach, these blinds are more than necessary. Before there was extension shafts that could be used to get a hold of the blinds on the ceiling window – that was tedious and difficult, and ended up in you having neck pain and your shoulders sore from keeping your hands up with the extension in your hands. Today you can install remote controlled automatic window blinds that can either have a contol panel on the wall near the window at a height which is easily reachable, or you can use a remote control that is battery powered and can be used at any location at your home. The possibilities are endless when it comes to your automatic window blinds!
